After collapse of Soviet Union Bishkek , Almaty and Dushanbe became capitals of these countries though Almaty is former capital of Kazakhstan given its status to Astana. Bishkek and Dushanbe are still Capitals of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. These region is mostly mountainous that is why hiking and trekking tours attracts travelers from Russia and Europe. Historical tours are in high interest among tourists as the Great Silk Road went through this region connecting China and Europe.
